About Us EBC Building Corp was founded in 1981 by Jay Ellis as a small carpentry and woodworking business in Marshfield. Over the past twenty-four years, Ellis Building has developed into one of the most respected construction and development businesses South of Boston specializing in building some of the most elegant, custom homes on the South Shore. Most of our homes are customized to our clients style and preference and all of our homes come with custom, hand-built cabinetry made right in Marshfield. Other facets of our business include home remodeling, custom cabinetry, and commercial development. Jay Ellis has been working in residential and commercial construction for over 35 years, graduating from South Shore Voc Tech in 1973. His master craftsmanship, professionalism, and eye for detail set the tone for excellence in every project of every size. Jay and his wife, Barbara, reside in Marshfield and have three boys.
